This gorgeous Washington state wedding oozes minimalism in so many different ways. From the bride’s gorgeous sheath wedding gown to utilizing the lush gardens for decor to keeping the focus on the experience rather than the details, Kristin and Derek were able to host a stunning, simple affair beautifully captured by Huoy Chen Photography.

Kristin and Derek are one of those couples that you can just tell are so in love and happy with each other, and this provides the perfect backdrop for their wedding. Details don’t matter when you have a love that radiates like theirs does. And can we talk about her gorgeous reception outfit? Le swoon!

From the photographer:

Kirstin and Derek wanted to plan an intimate celebration with just their closest friends and family. They love the outdoors — much of their love story and time spent together is out exploring new places. They decided to have their wedding in Heronswood in Kingston, WA, just outside of Seattle so that it could be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The gardens are secluded from the rest of the property with tall trees to make it the perfect private setting for their union. Kirstin and Derek really designed their wedding to represent who they are. Their first look was arranged so that they both could see each other at the same time. They proceed into the wedding ceremony together, arm-in-arm. They asked for their community of family and friends to support their marriage by passing around their ring for a blessing. They made their wedding day full of experiences to commemorate their vows and their relationship.
They focused on the experiences and the relationship of their family and friends. They used beautiful ranunculuses as their wedding flowers — so vibrant that they only needed a few here and there to go a long way. They entertained their guests with Trivial Pursuit to honor their love of board games.
